The Genuine Krofta DAF
- 1912: Milos Krofta is born in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
- 1934: Becomes the youngest mechanical engineering graduate in the history of the Prague Engineering Faculty.
- 1938: Earns a PhD in papermaking technology in Germany, solidifying his expertise in the pulp and paper industry.
- 1938: Appointed General Manager of three paper mills in Yugoslavia.
- 1945: Following the confiscation of his mills by communists, Dr. Krofta flees to Trieste, Italy, where he establishes Krofta Engineering SpA.
- 1951: Relocates Krofta Engineering's headquarters to Lenox, NY, USA, marking the start of his global impact.
- 1972: Designs and patents the high-flow Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) Supracell, a game-changer in wastewater treatment.
- 1981: Designs and patents the innovative Sandfloat technology for advanced filtration.
- 1989: Achieves a milestone of 1,000 DAF installations worldwide.
- 1995: Krofta's installations grow to 2,000 DAF units globally, reflecting its widespread adoption.
- 1998: Surpasses 3,000 DAF installations, further cementing Krofta's position as an industry leader.
- 1989-2000: Develops the 2nd and 3rd generations of Sandfloat technology, enhancing performance and efficiency. Expands research into DAF system designs and operational improvements.
- 2002: Krofta Technologies relocates to Dalton, MA. Tragically, Dr. Krofta passes, leaving behind an enduring legacy.
- 2003: Introduces the Multifloat, expanding DAF design capabilities for diverse applications.
- 2005: Krofta is acquired by Ecovation, integrating its technologies into broader water treatment solutions.
- 2008: Ecolab acquires Krofta, furthering its innovation reach.
- 2015: Waterleau acquires Krofta, continuing its mission to provide sustainable wastewater treatment solutions.
- 2020: Start of Krofta DAF construction from Belgium, Europe
